Lorsqu’on découvre cette place pour la première fois en tant que touriste, on ne peut s’empêcher de penser aux banlieues françaises également construites sur le triste modèle du Tetris. Un Tetris figé, austère, et où les empilements de barres ne rapportent pas de points… On descend du U-bahn, on jette un regard furtif sur la place, puis on s’engouffre dans les profondeurs de la station, le repère des drogués et de leurs fournisseurs. À peine sorti de la station, on presse le pas pour rejoindre la Oranienstrasse ou le Graeffekiez, mais jamais, non jamais on ne s’arrête.
Pourtant Kottbusser Tor, c’est aussi Kotti, un surnom donné à la place par ceux qui y vivent, ceux qui y travaillent, ceux qui s’y arrêtent parce que oui, Kottbusser Tor est un endroit attachant, vivant, un vrai Kiez avec ses habitants et sa vie de quartier et, cerise sur le ghetto, Kotti est également un des hauts lieux de la vie nocturne berlinoise. Mais pour le savoir, encore faut-il s’y arrêter et explorer ces barres que l’on ne saurait voir. Les Lapins Techno vous montrent les portes derrière lesquelles se cachent les lieux qui font les nuits de Kotti. Il ne tient qu’à vous d’y pénétrer.
Möbel Olfe, Reichenberger Str. 177, RDCOn aime: ses serveuses à moustache, sa déco dépouillée et absurde, les meubles qui tombent du plafond (allusion au magasin de meuble qui résidait dans l’immeuble), ses murs de béton, ses néons verts et la Flensburger à 2€…
Pour s’y rendre: Sortir du U-bahn côté Rossmann, pénétrer dans le passage entre le Rossmann et le kebab, la vitrine du bar est visible du passage, mais attention, ne cherchez pas la porte, l’entrée se fait du côté opposé.
Paloma, Skalitzer Str. 135, 1er étageOn aime: l’étroitesse de l’espace, ses fenêtres inclinées, sa vue imprenable sur le U-bahn, ses DJs.
Pour s’y rendre: Sortir du U-bahn côté Kaiser’s et prendre l’escalier ouvert à droite du supermarché, puis l’escalier de gauche et la première porte à gauche au premier étage.
Monarch, Skalitzer Str. 134, 1er étageOn aime: ses fenêtres inclinées et sa vue sur le U-bahn (comme au Paloma), ses sièges le long des fenêtres, et son baby foot…
Pour s’y rendre: Sortir du métro côté Kaiser’s, longer la Skalitzer Strasse jusqu’a la porte du n°134. Monter les escaliers jusqu’au premier étage, puis pousser la première porte à gauche.
Festsaal Kreuzberg, Skalitzer Str. 130, RDCOn aime: sa programmation oscillant entre groupes berlinois underground et figures de la scène internationale alternative, la simplicité de l’endroit (une salle carrée, une scène, un bar, comme au Lido), ses mezzanines.
Pour s’y rendre: Sortir du métro côté Kaiser’s, longer la Skalitzer Strasse jusqu’aux faibles lumières qui ornent le kiosque de l’entrée. La salle est au fond de la cour.
West Germany, Skalitzer Str. 133, dernier étageOn aime: le côté Trash et défoncé du lieu, les toilettes sur le palier, sa programmation très berlinoise.
Pour s’y rendre: Sortir du U-bahn côté Kaiser’s, longer la Skalitzer Strasse jusqu’à la porte du n°133. Gravir les escalier jusqu’au dernier étage, pousser la porte en face des toilettes.
